September 23, 2008 we had a specail assembly celebrating the "Go Active Grant" which was awarded to our school from the McDonald's Corporation. Mr. Chris Gaughan, McDonald's manager from 64th Street and Greenway and Vivian Vincent, the AZ State PTA President were here for the presentation of the LARGE check. The grant gives our school $1,000.00 to purchase PE equipment. The program will run during a lunch recess time period and Mrs. Amy Smith will be coordinating the program for our students. The PTA was asked to cover the additional $2,000.00 to run the program. The funds were approved and the program will begin in 6-8 weeks. Thank you to McDonalds and our wonderful PTA. |
